Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a type of laser treatment meant to permanently remove hair regardless of follicle depth. The laser used in treatment is a long pulsed dye laser which releases rapid pulses of energy that penetrate the skin and target dark hair follicles.
(Prices vary on location.)
How Do Lasers Work?
Although laser hair removal is not usually considered permanent, studies have shown that areas where hair is removed by lasers can generally remain hair free longer than by most other methods. Lasers most effectively disable hair that is in the anagen or active growth phase. Lasers emit a powerful beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment while minimizing damage to the surrounding skin. The hair follicles absorb the laser energy impairing the ability to grow new hair.
IPL / Synrone™
If bleaching creams, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels haven’t helped with your brown spots or patches and your texture and pore size aren’t what they used to be, we can help you achieve your skin care goals!
What Will I Look Like After the Procedure?
Immediately following each treatment, the treated area may be pink or slightly red in color, similar to a light sunburn. This will fade after two to twelve hours. Patients may return to work or other normal activities (avoiding sun exposure) with or without makeup directly after each procedure. During the forty-eight hours following your IPL(Photofacial) treatment, most hyperpigmentation (or brown spots) will darken, resembling pepper flakes on the skin. Your practitioner may recommend an exfoliating treatment a week following your IPL(Photofacial) in order to reveal the less highly pigmented and smoother skin beneath.
Is it Permanent?
IPL(PhotoFacial) works well for many people and gives a beautiful result. As with any procedure, maintenance may be required. Maintenance recommendations will vary, depending upon your level of severity and lifestyle. Staying out of the sun and wearing a 30 SPF Sunblock or greater will reduce the need for frequent treatments.
Apogee Elite™/ Spider vein treatment™
Apogee Elite™ laser allows us to provide a safe and effective treatment for the removal of spider veins on all skin types and colors. This laser can be used on spider veins, deep, bluish reticular veins, and larger, non-bulging varicose veins.
Who can be treated?
The lasers unique design and long wavelength allow it to treat patients of all skin tones. It is even FDA approved for tanned skin; however we still advise that you minimize sun exposure during the treatment phase.
Do the treatments hurt?
Most laser therapy patients report little discomfort. Some experience a mild burning sensation when the laser pulses. The use of cooling devices provides a comfortable experience.
What happens after the treatment?
Following your treatment, we encourage you to resume normal activities immediately but ask you to refrain from taking hot baths or vigorous activities for the first 48 hours. We recommend you wear compression stockings for the first 3 days after treatments to help keep pressure on the veins.
Q-YAG 5™/Tattoo Removal
What Kind of Tattoos Can Be Treated?
A tattoo’s color, depth, and the chemical composition of the ink all affect how it responds to laser light. Black, red, dark orange and dark blue tattoos will usually respond relatively quickly to treatment with laser. However, green, purple, brown, light orange, and light blue colors may respond more slowly. In general, most tattoos can be successfully treated, given a sufficient number of treatments.
How Does It Work?
The laser emits a highly focused beam of intense laser light. This light passes harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and is absorbed primarily by the tattoo ink or the excess pigment within the lesion. As the light is absorbed, it is converted to heat. This all happens within a tiny fraction of a second, and the sudden rise in temperature within the treatment target fractures the ink. White blood cells then carry away these particles to be naturally eliminated by the body.
SCITON© PROFILE / MicroLaser Peel
What is the MicroLaser Peel?
It is an intra-epidermal laser peel that precisely ablates the outermost layers of the skin. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the condition to be corrected.
Wrinkle, scars, acne scars, keratoses, or pigmentary problems have been very successfully treated with MicroLaser Peel.
What can be expected?
You will experience smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin, with a significant, immediate change in skin texture and tightness as compared to microdermabrasion.
How long is the healing process?
Healing takes 5 days, symptoms immediately follow the procedure resemble a sunburn, with minor sloughing on the second day. Redness will begin to fade by the third day, and be easily covered by makeup on the fourth day.
